As I could see an opportunity to assist people and their families in their own homes rather than within the hospital environment, I decided to start my own business as a Disability Support Worker and a Registered Nurse within the Illawarra community. While Australian hospitals and our health care system are still rated one of the best globally, today our hospitals are operating to capacity – a trend which looks set to continue into the future.
In today’s modern, fast paced society, one-on-one nursing care is often unachievable for a variety of reasons, meaning sub-optimal outcomes can occur. Evidence indicates that a patient’s recovery in their home environment is far more beneficial than long stays in the hospital. This can improve patient morale, mental health can minimise the potential for infection and patient recovery times may be quicker.
We are a registered NDIS Provider community dedicated to providing innovative, best-practice services to people living with a disability. Our purpose is to build a thriving community that celebrates diversity, embraces equality and encourages creativity. We are here to also assist people with disabilities within the community. Our goal is to listen closely to your needs, allow and encourage you to make the decisions in the way you want to be treated as an individual and live your life as independently as you wish.
